Who owns your story?
If you went with the obvious answer – you – then you would be wrong.
It doesn’t matter if your story is tied up in a business you started from scratch, a 100-metre dash for which you spent a lifetime training or an attempt to get more people to export: You do not own your own story.

Ask anyone who’s ever interacted with a reporter. They know that a call from the local newspaper, radio station or TV channel isn’t a request for permission to talk about you herunterladen. It’s a request to participate in the telling of your story. If the Ottawa Citizen chose to publish a front-page article tomorrow on your decision to switch to one-percent milk, it wouldn’t need your go-ahead.
